(USAID: 2000) AbstractThere is a significant presence in Kosovo of international forces and agencies, working in coordination to rebuild the physical infrastructure, to strengthen civil society, and to create sustainable social, political, educational, and economic institutions. Two critically important parts of this endeavor are (a) the civil and voter registration of residents of Kosovo and (b) the convening of municipal elections. These activities, vital to a healthy citizenry, are being designed and carried out under the authority of the Organization for Security and Cooperation in Europe (OSCE) and the United Nations Civil Administration. (1999) AbstractWorldwide, the reproductive health of men and women with physical disabilities is usually given low priority or dismissed. This often arises from the myth that disabled people are not sexually active, with no need to control their fertility. Since people with disabilities are often hidden from view or may have difficulty reaching clinics, family planning providers may not be aware of their reproductive health needs. Mathematica Policy Research Inc.Estimating the Size and Characteristics of the Supplemental Security Income (SSI) Child Population: A Comparison Between the National Survey of SSI Children and Families (NSCF) and Three National Surveys, Final Report AbstractTo monitor and evaluate programs for children receiving Supplemental Security Income (SSI), policymakers need reliable information on the children's health and health care. The United States Social Security Administration (SSA) is responsible for providing information on child SSI recipients, including information on their characteristics, experiences, and needs. In addition to publishing routine reports on SSI recipients using SSI administrative data, SSA occasionally develops a special survey of children receiving SSI to permit more comprehensive and detailed analyses of critical policy issues. The National Survey of SSI Children and Families (NSCF), fielded between August 2001 and July 2002, is the most recent SSA-sponsored survey to focus specifically on child SSI recipients. |
