Welcome to the Disability-Related Policy Discussion Page. This section of the website is organized around topics chosen by the three working groups: the Employment Working Group, the Income Working Group and the Disability-Related Supports Working Group. These working groups have been formed by members of the website's advisory group and are comprised of people with particular expertise or interest in the topic area.

This portion of the website is intended to enable you to inform the content of the website. By sharing your stories and experiences with us, you can help us decide what information should be available on the site, and inform further discussion topics for the working groups and discussion themes. By telling them what you want, you can also help keep leaders of the disability community in touch with the needs of the people they represent. Simply type in your storey and click on the “Submit” tab below to add your voice to the Disability-Related Policy Website. A content editor will review your submission and post it to the website.

Disability-Related Policy Listserv

The Disability-Related Policy Listserv is a discussion forum about disability-related policy in Canada and the needs of the organizations of the disability community with a limited membership that will keep discussions focused.

This mailing list is organized around three themes of disability-related policy in Canada: Employment, Income and Disability Supports. Discussions will be focused on a specific issue pertinent concern in disability policy of the moment. Each themed section will have a moderator, who maintains the decorum of the group, and a facilitator who prompts and stimulates discussion by asking prompting questions and raising issues for further discussion. At the end of the discussion period, a summary of the group's discussion will be drafted by the facilitator and put, along with the relevant questions and the description of the theme, on the site for others to view after the theme has changed. A content editor will review all submissions and then post them on the website.
